Columbus Hearing Impaired Program (C.H.I.P.)
Serving over 220 Deaf or Hard of Hearing Students in Central Ohio
Through C.H.I.P., CCS is able to offer a variety of services to meet the needs of over 220 central Ohio students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing from preschool through twelfth grade. CHIP is a one-of-a-kind program in Columbus.
Since the 1950’s, the staff of C.H.I.P. have provided students with a total educational experience. We strive to achieve the following:
- Each student reaches fullest communication potential, is highly educated, prepared for leadership and service, and is empowered with skills for success
- Learning environments are student-centered, efficient, positive and stable.
- Give students opportunity to participate in academic and non-academic school activities.
- Work with 30 central Ohio districts to provide services for those who would benefit from C.H.I.P.
- Offer a variety of services in which students can realize their full potential in communication, education, physical activities, creativity, social and emotional growth, and career aspirations.
